Architecture & InteriorsLisbon, Portugal

Spaces shaped by light, material and intention.

Haven is a studio of eleven people designing houses, cultural spaces and the objects that fill them. We work slowly, with a narrow palette of materials, and stay with a project from the first site walk to the day the doors open.

Accepting two new commissions for 2027.

02The studio

We design spaces that feel inevitable.

Good buildings rarely announce themselves. They hold a temperature, a quality of light and a set of proportions that make the room feel as though it could not have been arranged any other way.

That result comes from restraint rather than invention. We work with a narrow palette of materials, resolve details early, and spend the remaining time removing everything the project does not need.

03What we do

Five ways of working, usually combined.

All services
  • 01

    Architecture

New buildings and substantial reworkings, from first sketch through to the last site visit.

  • 02

    Interior Design

Rooms resolved to the millimetre — surfaces, joinery, light and the way a hand meets a door.

  • 03

    Spatial Strategy

Work that happens before drawings: briefs, capacity, sequence and the shape of a programme.

  • 04

    Furniture & Objects

Pieces made for a specific room, developed with the makers who will build them.

  • 05

    Art Direction

How a finished space is photographed, described and remembered.

Demo figures — this is a template, not a real practice.

A room is finished when nothing else can be taken away from it.
